A Breakdown of Rush Events

  • September 5, 2021

    SSS Jam

This is the first acapella event of the year, where you’ll get to hear all the undergraduate acapella groups perform. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to sign up for auditions! Couldn’t make it? No worries, shoot the rush managers an email or contact the SGC and we’ll give you an audition slot. This event will be held at Sheffield-Sterling-Strathcona Hall (SSS).

  • September 9 - September 12, 2021

Auditions will be held for all SGC acapella groups between September 9 – September 12. Click here for details about what an audition for Pitches & Tones looks like!

  • September 17, 2021

    Singing Dessert

Between auditions and callbacks, Pitches & Tones performs a full-length set and, with all the COVID-19 rules, try to offer you free food. This is your best chance to get a feel for the kind of music we perform and our group dynamic. This year, only rushees that we have called back will be able to attend our Singing Dessert due to COVID-19 restrictions.

  • September 18 - September 19, 2021

If we think we need to hear you again, we’ll send you an invite for a callback audition! Callbacks are very similar in format to your first audition, but we’ll email you the specific information you’ll need to know when we notify you of your callback invitation.

  • Sometime the week of September 20, 2021!

    Tap Night

After your callback, your job is done. The final acapella rush event is Tap Night, which is when acapella groups will officially tap you!
